Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Emergency Tradie emergency dispatch service and website. By calling 0483 945 769 or using emergencytradie.com.au you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
Emergency Tradie is a dispatch intermediary. We connect customers requiring urgent trade services with available, verified tradespersons across the Adelaide metropolitan area. We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Emergency Tradie is not itself a trade contractor. We do not perform plumbing, electrical, building, or other trade work. The tradesperson connected through our service is an independent contractor and is solely responsible for the quality, safety, and completion of their work.
2. How dispatch works
When you call, you are placed in a queue. When a tradesperson is available in your suburb, you are taken off hold and informed that the call is being recorded. Your call is then connected to the tradesperson in a monitored conference. The first tradesperson to accept the connection takes the job.
- Dispatch is subject to tradie availability in your area at the time of your call
- Emergency Tradie does not guarantee response times or job completion timeframes
- Pricing, warranties, and workmanship are matters between you and the tradesperson directly
- Emergency Tradie does not handle payments between customers and tradies
3. Call recording consent
Calls are recorded from the moment you are connected to a tradesperson. You will hear a verbal notification before connection occurs. Remaining on the call after this notification constitutes your consent to recording under the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979 (Cth) and the Listening and Surveillance Devices Act 1972 (SA). Recordings are deleted after 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
4. Customer obligations
- Provide accurate information about your location and the nature of the job
- Ensure safe access to the property for the attending tradesperson
- Not misuse the emergency dispatch service for non-urgent or fraudulent jobs
- Deal directly and honestly with the tradesperson regarding scope and payment
5. Tradie obligations
All tradespersons on the Emergency Tradie network are required to hold and maintain:
- A current South Australia plumbing licence issued by CBS SA (where applicable to trade)
- All required licences and registrations for their nominated trade category
- Public liability insurance of at least $5,000,000
- A current ABN and GST registration
- 24/7 availability commitment for their nominated service area
Tradies are onboarded with full knowledge that calls are recorded and quality-assessed. Continued participation in the network constitutes ongoing consent to recording and quality review.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Emergency Tradie's liability to you is limited to the cost of re-supplying the dispatch service. Emergency Tradie is not liable for the acts, omissions, workmanship, or conduct of any tradesperson connected through our service, nor for any loss or damage arising from a tradesperson's work.
Nothing in these terms excludes any guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
7. Intellectual property
All content on emergencytradie.com.au, including suburb intelligence pages, is the property of Emergency Tradie. Council meeting data is derived from publicly available minutes and is used under fair dealing provisions.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia. Disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be notified via the website.
